SPRING 2009
New Owners Make Big Changes
Spring is finally here! For those of you who haven’t visited the inn in the past year, the new owners, Carolyn Gendreau and Dina Giunta, have been making some incredible changes for your added comfort and enjoyment. Carolyn is a retired Chiropractic Physician and Dina is a Massage Therapist, both from the Tampa Bay, Florida area. Dina also has many years of experience in the food industry as owner of her own restaurant. Guess who does all the cooking?
The inn now has a Guest Services Room for easy access to a microwave for popcorn while watching an evening movie, an icemaker and Flavia cup-at-a-time coffee/tea maker. Guests can also help themselves to a fully stocked refrigerator with a variety of sodas and bottled water.
The guest rooms have been enhanced with Mitsubishi “mini-split” heat pumps with individual room temperature controls to both heat and AC. No more of those noisy window units! Central heat and air has been added to the common areas of the inn including the living room, dining room, foyer and hallways. The most exciting change to the guest rooms was the renovation of all five bathrooms. When possible, we have expanded the bathroom size, updated the tile and added elegant bathroom vanities and lighting fixtures to enhance each room’s décor. See our new, updated web site for pictures!
Spring Has Sprung
Make your reservations soon in order to see the blooming of the local flora. The mountain laurels and rhododendrons are soon to be in full bloom. What a beautiful view from the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Wine! Wine! Wine!
We recently received our wine permit and will soon have an assortment of wines and champagnes available for guests. Anyone for a mimosa at breakfast? We’ll have them soon! As an added bonus, we will also offer wine and hors d’oeuvres at our weekend social hours. Keep watching for updated info on our wine tasting events coming soon.
